Program Description
Mentors, Music, & Sports, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is based in Polk County, Florida. This program is for AT-RISK YOUTH, ages 13-17, who need GUIDANCE and MOTIVATION to navigate through the many challenges they face growing up in inner cities.

Day-to-day operations of the organization are run by volunteers who have a passion for at-risk youth. The organization currently consists of four major programs: (1) Music, (2) Sports, (3) Performing Arts, and (4) The Arts:

Music – the music program is broken down into subcategories of musical instrument performance, recording/audio arts, and musical performance.

Sports – the sports program mainly focuses on individual training for sports such as basketball, baseball, and football, as well as general strength and conditioning.

Performing Arts – the performing arts program includes various forms of dance and theatre.

The Arts – the arts program consists of activities such as drawing, painting, graphic design, and video production.

Mentors, Music, & Sports, Inc.’s goal is to foster an environment that will allow at-risk youth to dream big. Many of these kids dream of playing professional sports or getting signed to a record deal. Although the reality is the vast majority of people do not accomplish those goals, there are countless opportunities to work in their field of choice. We will expose them to other jobs in the professional field of sports and within the music industry.

Education is also a focal point for Mentors, Music, & Sports, Inc. Report cards and progress reports are required in order to participate in this program. To improve parental involvement, we will have quarterly parent night at a school site.

Additionally, at-risk youth will be taken on outings to inspire them to see varied job opportunities. These outings will include collegiate and professional sporting events, concerts and other special events, recording studios, skills camps, and a host of other events.

Mentors, Music, & Sports, Inc. will positively impact the lives of at-risk youth!
